Four and a half months. Just four and a half months since the
Las Vegas shooting, and I wish I could say. the last shooting, but that would be a lie. We have had 18 school shootings in the first 45 days of 2018. Most of which have gone unnoticed. This one is making big news because of the death toll, and once again, that is made so much easier with a semi automatic assault rifle.
What has happened to our society that life has become so cheap, that the taking of a life is so easy, and done with so little thought. I ask, "when will it stop?" Is there any amount of blood letting before we can have a rational discussion on gun control? I made my arguments four and a half months ago. You are welcome to read my article on gun control on my website which I wrote after that incident.
There is the saying "What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different outcome." Until we the people, make it a commitment to vote for candidates who are not in the pocket of the National Rifle Association (NRA) the carnage will not stop. I don't believe in banning all guns, but it's time to ban assault weapons. It's time to give the innocent dead their due.
As long as special interest groups like the NRA can fill the campaign coffers of politicians, any rational discussion will never take place. As we have seen this year politicians refuse to bite the hand that feeds them. However, the choice to change is yours come November.
